CASIO RELEASES FOUR STYLISH NEW EXILIM DIGITAL CAMERAS WITH ENTRY LEVEL PHOTOGRAPHERS IN MIND

High Performance Features Simplified with easy Mode and Premium Auto

Las Vegas, NV, January 9, 2012 – Casio America, Inc. and its parent company, Casio Computer Co., Ltd., today announced the release of four new models to the EXILIM® family of digital cameras: the EX-ZS150, EX-ZS20, EX-ZS12, and EX-ZS6. These compact cameras feature a powerful zoom lens and 16.1 effective megapixels and provide high-performance features that are typically not available in entry level digital cameras.

The four new models have dedicated buttons for the basic digital camera operations of capturing, reviewing, and deleting images. They also feature the “easy Mode” interface, which clearly displays frequently used functions with large lettering and icons. By following instructions from the on-screen guide, users can take photos with the optimal photographic settings. Also, by merely pointing the camera at a subject, the new models automatically focus on the face of the subject or on the landscape. Once the focus frame turns green, the user just presses the shutter button, and a sharply focused image is captured. The new EXILIM cameras are designed to be easy for everyone to operate, even novices.

The EX-ZS150 is equipped with a 24mm wide-angle lens and a 12.5x optical zoom ready to capture any kind of scene, while the EX-ZS20 is equipped with a 26mm wide-angle lens and a 6x optical zoom in a slim, stainless-steel body. Both models come with Premium Auto mode, which automatically analyzes the shooting scene to choose the best settings and performs image processing. When set to Premium Auto mode, the cameras will automatically analyze the scene being photographed and simultaneously optimize settings for exposure, ISO, sensitivity, focus location, photo blur correction, tonal range, color balance, and level of noise reduction. Premium Auto mode will automatically distinguish night scenes, back lighting, a blue sky, green trees or a sunset and can sense whether there is a person’s face in the frame, the movement and position of the subject, and whether a tripod is being used. All images are analyzed pixel by pixel to apply different corrections depending on the subject. For example, if Premium Auto mode recognizes that the subject of the image is a person, it will automatically apply Makeup Mode, and will automatically apply Landscape Mode if it detects that the subject of the image is a landscape. For those who value simplicity and want to capture beautiful images with each press of the shutter, Casio’s Premium Auto is the mode to use.

Meanwhile, the EX-ZS12 and EX-ZS6 are equipped with a 26mm wide-angle lens and a 5x optical zoom. The EX-ZS12 features a slim, stainless-steel body for a high-quality look.

“Casio’s latest introductions continue to offer today’s consumers the very best digital imaging has to offer,” said Shigenori Itoh, Chairman and CEO of Casio America. “With their high-performance features and array of shooting modes, these new cameras will deliver an overall digital imaging experience that’s far from entry-level.”

All four models come in a wide variety of colors and offer BEST SHOT Mode, which optimizes photo settings when the user selects the type of scene about to be photographed. Every BEST SHOT Mode was designed to help users capture the best images possible of a wide range of subjects in just about any environment. Users will also benefit from helpful images and descriptions which accompany each mode and give a detailed explanation of when to use them and what each will provide in regard to results. The new EXILIM models also offer a self-portrait function that automatically takes a beautiful shot when the camera detects the user’s face and focuses on it. What’s more is that each camera is also capable of HD movie recording (1280 x 720) for stunning clips.

In addition, the cameras feature a 2.7-inch LCD screen as well as USB charging, which provides users the ability to recharge the battery in camera while connected to a computer.

Single Frame SR Zoom extends the maximum telephoto range of the optical zoom
EX-Z2300 uses super resolution technology to respectively enhance edges, flat areas and textures when enlarging images, by analysing and adjusting the contours in images and the relief of the subject. The Single Frame SR Zoom extends the maximum telephoto range of the optical zoom up to 1.5 times, while maintaining super resolution image quality. Premium Auto delivers an advanced level of full auto photography, ensuring high quality photos with just a press of the button.

Dynamic Photo function for creating composite moving images

Moving images of up to 20-seconds long can be used as a background, and it is also possible to make multiple characters move independently of one another.

The preset memory includes 26 kinds of animal characters including dogs, cats, and monkeys that move in a comical manner, such as a dog riding a bicycle and a monkey doing a handstand. Users can enjoy not only creating such images, but also use the software included with the camera to upload them to YouTubeTM or a blog, thereby broadening the enjoyment of viewing their original creations.

Art Shot and Art Effect functions create photos with the look of a painting

The EX-S200 comes in five different colors: silver, orange, blue, black, and pink. The Quick Mode function powers on the camera with a press of the shutter button, previews a photo after shooting, and automatically powers down. Newly developed EXILIM Engine 5.0
Casio has made even further advances from its EXILIM Engine 4.0, which contained both an ordinary CPU and a high-speed dedicated image processing CPU. The new Engine 5.0 increases image processing speed by 30% and produces beautiful images through advanced color reproduction and rich tonal gradation and by removing noise from photos in high sensitivity mode.

Dynamic Photo: Make composite images of different moving images

In addition to composites made with a still image background, cut-out moving images can now be pasted on other moving images. This new capability raises the power of expression of images. Thus, while increasing the “fun of creating images,” these models will also increase the “fun of sharing images” by making it easy to upload images to YouTube™ using the included software or post them to a blog.

YouTube™ Movie Mode

CASIO RELEASES WORLD’S SLIMMEST*
SHOCK-RESISTANT DIGITAL CAMERA

EXILIM GWaterproof and Dustproof, in a .78-inch,** Smart Design

DOVER, NJ, November 18, 2009 – Casio America, Inc. and its parent company, Casio Computer Co., Ltd., announced today the release of the EX-G1 shock-resistant, waterproof, dustproof digital camera—the first in the company’s new EXILIM® G brand of digital cameras. With its smart design featuring functional beauty, the EX-G1 embodies Casio’s endurance-minded features and specifications in a sleek 0.78-inch** low-profile camera.

Casio first introduced the shock-resistant G-SHOCK® timepiece to the world in 1983.  The G-SHOCK brand remains extremely popular among consumers and adventure enthusiasts around the globe thanks to its distinctive, unique design, rugged toughness and practicality, even under severe environmental conditions. In 2000, Casio launched the G’zOne™, a durable, water-resistant mobile phone.

Casio is positioning the EXILIM G brand in an “endurance” category, which demonstrates its determination to create digital cameras suitable for top athletes and adventurers. The endurance category caters to those who never quit challenging both extreme conditions and their own limits. The new model was developed to embody this brand concept, using Casio’s years of experience creating technologies for shock resistance, waterproofing and slim-line design.

The EX-G1 is designed with shock-resistant elements throughout the camera, both inside and out, creating a smart look in a slim-line camera with functional beauty. In addition to capturing high-resolution 12.1 effective megapixel images, the EX-G1 also features modes such as interval shooting and multi-image capture which utilize the camera’s endurance qualities. The interval shooting function can automatically take still photos or movies at fixed intervals, enabling users to capture great shots while engaged in active sports such as snowboarding or cycling***.

“Whether it is the lifestyle that you have chosen or your career path that requires you to carry a camera tough enough to endure life’s elements, the EXILIM G EX-G1 offers an endurance level that will withstand the demands of your daily routine,” says Toshi Iguchi, senior general manager of Casio’s Digital Imaging Division. “The EX-G1, Casio’s toughest camera to date, is a prime example of Casio’s constant devotion to creating cameras to accommodate all levels of photographers.”

Through rigorous testing, the EX-G1 has been designed and created with a shock-resistant shell which passes drop tests including multiple falls from seven feet.****  Featuring a two-layer construction with a stainless steel outer-casing, the EX-G1 inner body withstands shock and water damage. The camera’s intelligent design is constructed with a resin cover to protect the body side near the shutter and a resin lens ring to protect the lens.

The technologically-advanced design features waterproof performance and corresponds to IEC/JIS Protection Class 8 (IPX8) waterproofing. The EX-G1 can be used at depths at 10 feet for 60 continuous minutes*****. Water will not penetrate the camera even when directly sprayed with jets of water from every direction corresponding to Protection Class 6 (IPX6). Capable of withstanding temperatures as low as 14°F*****, Casio’s EX-G1 boldly captures images where any adventurer goes.

The EX-G1 will hit shelves in December 2009 with an MSRP of $299.99 and will be available in black and red.

* As of November 18, 2009, based on a Casio survey of shock resistant digital cameras (excluding protruding parts).
** Camera & Imaging Products Association (CIPA) standards.
*** A commercially available mount is required to support the camera.
**** In accordance with Casio’s own standard with reference to the US MIL-STD-810F Method 516.5-Shock, the camera passed a test in which it was dropped from a height of 2.13 meters (7 feet) onto lauan plywood at 26 different angles. However, the camera is not guaranteed to withstand all shocks in terms of damage, malfunction and performance. Moreover, camera shock may result in inability to retain waterproof performance.
*****Based on testing conditions established by Casio.
******Battery life will be shorter than under normal temperature conditions.

Features

Slim-line Design with Toughness Construction

  • Shock Resistance
The EXILIM G EX-G1 offers the world’s thinnest profile* of .78 inch (excluding protruding parts) in a shock-resistant digital camera. The camera passed multiple drop tests of seven feet based on Casio’s own standard**.
  • Waterproof/Dustproof
The EX-G1 offers waterproof performance corresponding to IEC/JIS Protection Class 8 (IPX8) waterproofing, and can be used for 60 continuous minutes at a water depth of 10 feet***. It also withstands water jets corresponding to IEC/JIS Protection Class 6 “IPX6” waterproofing, and can be directly rinsed under running water. The EX-G1 is also impervious to dust, with performance corresponding to IEC/JIS Protection Class 6 “IP6X” dustproofing.
  • Freezeproof
Withstanding ever the coldest of temperatures, the EX-G1 endures through temperatures as low as 14 °F****.

Shock resistant/waterproof construction and design

  • Exterior
The outer body of the EX-G1 is made from stainless steel to withstand external shocks while a polycarbonate cover absorbs shocks to the body side near the shutter. The camera’s wrist-strap holder is made of die-cast zinc to withstand drops while a rotating lock secures the external memory slot cover. For additional protection, the EX-G1 comes with two types of detachable protectors to absorb shocks.
  • Internal construction
The waterproof inner body of the camera is made from polycarbonate reinforced with fiberglass while a buckle-lock construction is added to absorb impact, using fewer screws to secure the inner body. Additionally, the camera’s frame comes equipped with speaker and microphone filters to prevent water from penetrating the camera.
  • Lens
To prevent damage to the camera’s lens, a resin ring as been added around the glass casing to ease shocks to the lens area. With the addition of a reinforced, glass lens cover, the EX-G1 is tooled with a multi coating that is water-repellent and prevents light reflection from ruining pictures. To further protect the camera from impact, high-performance damping material has been added to protect the lens unit from external shocks.
  • LCD panel
The acrylic plate to protect the LCD from water pressure and shocks is 1.5 times thicker than conventional point-and-shoot cameras. The LCD panel features a resin mount to ease shocks to the LCD panel area.

BEST SHOT® functions befitting a waterproof, shock-resistant camera

  • Interval shooting
The interval shooting function allows users to automatically take still photos or movies at fixed intervals while engaged in action sports such as cycling, snowboarding, and wind surfing*5. With the EX-G1, users can take powerful photos from inside the action, the kind which are usually almost impossible to capture. The shooting interval can be set at 10 seconds, 30 seconds, 1 minute, or 3 minutes, and the capture time for movies may be set at 3, 10, 20, or 30 minutes
  • Great for a variety of outdoor photography scenes
The BEST SHOT function enables users to take beautiful photos just by selecting the desired subject scene. The EX-G1 includes additional BEST SHOT settings suitable for various outdoor situations, such as “snow” and “beach” scene settings, which automatically adjust to prevent subject underexposure due to the brightness of snow or sun. There is also an “underwater” setting to control the tendency of underwater photos to come out looking too blue.

12.1 effective megapixels
This thin stylish model features a large 2.5-inch monitor with 230,400 dots of high resolution and a non-extending 3X zoom lens ranging from 38-114mm (35 mm film camera equivalent).

Intelligent AF
When the camera is pointed at a desired shot, the Intelligent AF function automatically detects the photo subject even if it is not a human face and determines the focus and exposure area accordingly.

Advanced Dynamic Photo function
Casio’s original Dynamic Photo function, which creates composite moving images using the camera’s own high-speed image processing technology, now does even more.  When a moving subject is cut out of a number of images and combined with a different still shot that forms the background, the size of the subject can be changed to suit the background image.  Additionally, the Dynamic Photo video can easily be converted in-camera into a motion JPEG movie file.  Moving graphics such as hearts and bouquets of flowers are included so that users can have fun decorating their still images using the Dynamic Photo function.  Casio not only allows users to have fun taking and viewing photos, but also provides innovative new ways for them to create original images, right on the camera.

Wide Screen Movies
The camera also features a wide format (16:9) Movie function.  Just press the dedicated Movie button to take beautiful movies at 848×480 pixels.

Press Release:

New HP Digital Photography Solutions Deliver Simplicity, Sophistication and Style

PALO ALTO, Calif., May 31, 2006 – HP today announced a new line of digital photography solutions with features and functionality that greatly enhance the photography experience for consumers.

The company also reported results from a new research study confirming that consumers believe HP Photosmart printers deliver the best overall photo printing experience.

Today’s product introductions include several affordably priced photo printers and all-in-ones, including the first and only compact photo printer on the market capable of storing more than 4,000 photos — the HP Photosmart A716 Compact Photo Printer.

HP also debuted its first touch-screen LCD on the HP Photosmart D7360 Photo Printer for an easy, kiosk-like printing experience at home, and unveiled four ultra-compact HP Photosmart digital cameras.

Feature-packed digital cameras

The 10-megapixel HP Photosmart R967 Digital Camera leads the lineup, featuring a 3-inch image display, durable metal body and sleek silver design. Both the HP Photosmart R967 and the HP Photomsart R827 Digital Camera feature a new innovation called HP steady photo anti-shake mode that utilizes high-sensitivity ISO with HP imaging technology to help prevent blurred photos.

Other features on these cameras include larger LCD display screens, greater megapixal resolution, and an on-camera button to easily order and share photos on Snapfish.

HP also added a new effect to its popular Design Gallery that allows users to turn a photo into a pencil drawing using the edges in the image – the result is similar to an illustration or line art drawing. First introduced earlier this year, the HP Design Galley lets consumers add creative touches such as borders, artistic effects and color tints to their photos with the touch of one button on the back of the camera without using sophisticated software on a PC.

Rounding out HP’s digital camera introductions are the easy-to-use HP Photosmart E427 Digital Camera with 6-megapixel resolution and 5x digital zoom and the ultra-compact HP Photosmart M627 Digital Camera featuring 7-megapixels and 24x total zoom – 3x optical, 8x digital. With today’s introduction, HP now has the broadest portfolio of cameras with in-camera red-eye removal under $500.

Photo studios on the go

HP’s new portable photo studios and compact photo printers are packed with features that make it simpler for consumers to capture and print brilliant photos almost anywhere. Among the featured enhancements, the HP Photosmart compact photo printer line includes a Photo Fix button that uses HP Real Life technologies to automatically remove red-eye, sharpen blurred images, and improve brightness, color and contrast.

Delivering the power of a PC in a printer, HP Photosmart A716 Compact Photo Printer is the only printer of its kind that stores photos – more than 4,000 – with four gigabytes of internal memory. Consumers can easily print 4 x 6-inch, 5 x 7-inch and panorama photos almost anywhere imaginable – parties, reunions, sporting events, family gatherings or vacations.

HP also added the ultra-light and portable(4) HP Photosmart A616 Compact Photo Printer and HP Photosmart A516 Compact Photo to its compact photo printer line. These printers enable consumers to conveniently print true-to-life 4 x 6-inch, passport and panoramic photos that resist fading for generations.

The HP Photosmart A430 Portable Photo Studio series is an integrated solution featuring a compact photo printer, built-in dock and an HP M- or R-series digital camera – with the option to purchase the photo studio printer separately from the digital camera. This printer has practically everything a digital photographer needs to capture and print 4 x 6-inch photos in three easy steps – snap, dock and print. Recent third-party testing showed that three out of four consumers preferred the HP Photosmart A430 Portable Photo Studio over Kodak’s Easyshare Series 3/C310 for the best overall printing experience.

The stylish and compact design of these printers coupled with the optional battery(4) makes these printers truly portable. For even greater portability, HP has added a built-in handle to the HP Photosmart A716 and A616 Compact Photo Printers as well as to the HP Photosmart A430 Portable Photo Studio series.

New Vivera inks featured in the HP 110 Tri-color Inkjet Print Cartridge were designed to work exclusively with HP’s line of compact photo printers. The inks produce lab-quality photos as well as enhanced image permanence and durability.

World’s fastest photo printers at lower price points

The company’s six new HP Photosmart photo printers and all-in-ones, built on HP’s scalable printing technology, feature the industry’s fastest print speeds(5) at the most affordable prices for consumers – as low as $129.

The HP Photosmart D7360 Photo Printer offers consumers a kiosk-like experience in the home via its touch screen LCD. This printer also has simple and intuitive photo features to save consumers time including: an HP Photosmart Express button with Print Wizard which provides step-by-step instructions to help new users get familiar with printing tasks like photo selection, paper size, layout of images and editing options; and a PhotoFix button to automatically remove

red-eye, apply Smart Focus and add photo brightening. Priced at $199,(6) the D7360 features six individual high-capacity ink cartridges that enable high-volume printing of 4 x 6-inch photos in as fast as 12 seconds.

Leading HP’s all-in-one line-up, the HP Photosmart C7180 All-in-One Printer, Fax, Scanner, Copier, incorporates leading scanning and wireless innovations for unparalleled ease-of-use. This all-in-one printer also features a large 3.6-inch LCD screen to easily view and select images, and is capable of producing true-to-life photos in as fast as 12 seconds. The HP Photosmart C7180 All-in-One also allows users to print photos from camera phones, notebook PCs and other devices with built-in Bluetooth™ wireless technology, or share with multiple PCs or Macs on a wireless Ethernet network.

Bundled with HP Photosmart Premier software, the new line of printers is optimized for use with HP Advanced Photo Paper for fast, instant-dry and water-resistant photos. Additionally, these photo printers feature HP Printer Check, a new automatic detection and download tool that identifies printer issues and updates out-of-date printer drivers. This tool also provides help on common printer issues with installation and configuration, and is available in and out of warranty at no charge.

Consumers declare HP provides best overall photo printing experience

HP reported findings from a recent, independent printer comparison study focused on ease-of-use. Conducted by third-party research firm Doxus, the study tested the HP Photosmart All-in-One C5180 Photo Printer, HP Photosmart D7360 Photo Printer, HP Photosmart A616 Compact Photo Printer and HP Photosmart A430 Portable Photo Studio and revealed(1):

  • HP Photosmart printers deliver the best overall photo printing experience as compared to other tested photo printers;
  • Most digital camera owners chose HP Photosmart printers over other major brands to print digital photos at home;
  • HP Photosmart printers are the fastest and easiest way to print lab-quality photos at home as compared to other tested photo printers;
  • People new to printing photos without a PC said HP was the fastest and easiest way to print a photo from a digital camera versus other major brands(7);
  • On average, digital camera owners printed a photo one minute faster with HP Photosmart printers versus other printers in their class.

All of HP’s digital photography products announced today run on a common user interface, HP Photosmart Express, to ensure consumers have a seamless experience for organizing, editing and printing their digital photos.

With all the panache of their award winning predecessors, these sleek, metal encased digital cameras (the HP Photosmart R927 Digital Camera comes in stainless steel and the HP Photosmart R727 Digital Camera in aluminum) can capture even more intricate details from any scene.

With 3x optical zoom and 6 or 8.1 megapixel (MP) resolution respectively, keen photographers can enlarge any unique shots up to poster size, without damaging image quality.

Despite measuring just 23mm and 26mm thin respectively, the HP Photosmart R727 and R927 digital cameras feature large full colour LCD screens of 6.4 cm and 7.6 cm with a 170 degree viewing angle, making it even easier to capture, view and make edits to images using the on-board menu options.

Photographers of all levels can take advantage of a full suite of HP’s most advanced Real Life technologies, which have been designed to allow users to take impressive photographs every time.

One such technology is HP’s unique Instant Image Advice system, which indicates problems within an image that need correction, such as a shot being over exposed. After automatically scanning an image the program takes users to an advice screen that provides instruction on how to make the adjustments needed to get the perfect shot. Further HP’s Real Life technologies include In-camera Panorama Stitching, an ideal tool for those photographers taking panoramic shots and wide angle images, which stitches up to 5 single shots together to create one image.

HP’s Automatic In-Camera Red-Eye Removal and HP Video Prints means users can select a single scene from video footage on the camera and save this as an image for sharing or printing. HP’s newly developed Design Gallery which includes a portfolio of tricks such as 10 different border effects, 12 different filters and four colour effects to help personalise images is included. All of HP’s Real Life technologies and the Design Gallery can be used without having to connect to a PC or download any additional software. Sharing and printing photos with these cameras is easy. Photos can be printed directly from the camera without having to connect to a PC using Pictbridge Technology or card slots. Sharing photos is just as simple when using HP’s included Photosmart Premier software.

This software provides a range of printing options and allows users to upload images to a secure site which friends or family can access in order to view images. For photographers looking for a completely wire free experience, both of these cameras can be connected to the optional HP Photosmart 6222 Wireless Dock. With this dock users can use the accompanying remote control to wirelessly manage their snapshots and navigate through a TV interface.

The latest cards include ‘Extreme Speed’ Class 10 16Gb cards (24MB/s read, 21MB/s write), and ‘High Speed’ 32Gb (24MB/s read, 17MB/s write) cards also described as Class 10.

Samsung Introduces Stylish Branded Memory Cards

RIDGEFIELD PARK, N.J.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Samsung Electronics America, Inc., a market leader and award-winning innovator in consumer electronics, announced today that it is now shipping a new line of advanced SD and microSD cards that are ideal for digital imaging and mobile devices. The seven new models of SD and microSD cards are now available as part of either the High Speed Series or the Plus Extreme Speed Series, both of which deliver up to 24MB/sec read speeds on cards with a capacity of 4GB or higher.

Styled with a brushed metal design, Samsung’s beautiful new line of SD and microSD cards are built with “Best-in-Class” performance. Able to meet the growing demand for high speed and high capacity memory in modern devices, the new cards are ideal for today’s digital cameras, camcorders, smartphones and tablets. With (up to) 24MB/sec OR (max) read speeds, users can transfer 1GB of images in as little as 42 seconds. In order to ensure their reliability, Samsung has designed both lines of memory products to be waterproof, shockproof, and magnet proof, allowing them to withstand some of the harshest conditions. All models are guaranteed to survive up to 24 hours in water, withstand the force of a 1.6 ton vehicle (3,200 lbs), and resist up to 10,000 gauss (slightly less than the power of a medical imaging magnet).

“It is our goal at Samsung to deliver superior performance, reliability and a stylish design across all of our product lines, including our memory line,” explained Reid Sullivan, Senior Vice President, Samsung Electronics America. “Utilizing our 19 years of experience in memory manufacturing, we’ve built both lines of SD and microSD cards for performance. With read speeds of up to 24 MB/sec and max write speeds of 13 MB/sec (High Speed Line) and 21 MB/sec (Plus Extreme Speed Line), as well as meeting our ‘3-proof’ reliability standard, these cards represent the ultimate in digital imaging and mobile computing storage. As the #1 memory supplier in the world and manufacturer of so many high performance portable devices, we are committed to ensuring consumers realize the best possible experience with those devices.”

Pre-CES: Samsung has unveiled the ST76 and ST66 5x zoom budget compact cameras. Both feature 25-125mm equivalent lenses that start at an impressively bright F2.5 maximum aperture (before settling down to a rather less note-worthy F6.3 at the long end of the zoom). Both also make use of 16MP CCD sensors, giving 720p video, and feature 2.7″ LCDs. The ST76 adds optical image stabilization and an extra $10 to the asking price.

Samsung ST76

The new Samsung ST76 and ST66 deliver flawless images from a stylish body

Las Vegas – Jan 9, 2012 – Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd, a global leader in digital media and digital convergence technologies, announced today the launch of its latest ST range compact cameras: the 16.1 Megapixel ST76 and ST66. Beautifully-styled yet powerful, the range boasts sleek, modern designs that deliver flawless images, while a host of fun features help inject maximum creativity into everyday shots.

The elegant new brushed-metal designs of the ST76 and ST66 give the range a classic, premium look that conveys a refined sense of style. All ST devices are compact enough to fit into any pocket and be taken anywhere to capture spontaneous moments, whether at the club, the beach or just spending time with friends. Each model is available in a range of vibrant and trendy colors to suit every personality with five different color versions of the ST76 and ST66.

Aided by the optical image stabilization available on the ST76, clear and steady images can now be achieved by any photographer, regardless of experience. Even when the light begins to dim, there is no reason to slow down. The F/2.5, 25mm wide angle bright lens available on both models is ideal for low-light shooting, thanks to its superior ability to capture light and therefore clear shots in the dark. The 5x optical zoom on each model helps ensure that detail isn’t lost when zooming in for a close-up. All captured on a 16 Megapixel CCD sensor, the ST range means that brilliantly clear images can be taken anywhere and in style.

Both the ST76 and ST66 include 720p HD Movie Recording at 30fps, so users can capture a priceless scene in quality that they will be proud to share later with friends and family.

“The ST range has always focused on bringing consumers the best in photography, encapsulated in a camera that’s not only easy to carry everywhere, but is stylish enough for you to be proud of, reflecting your own personal style,” commented Mr. Myoung Sup Han, Senior Vice President and Head of the Digital Imaging Business, Samsung Electronics. “With our new metallic designs and colors, we have continued in this commitment to combine superior imaging quality, cutting-edge aesthetics and features such as optical image stabilization and Live Panoramas to produce those outstanding results.”

Live Panorama to get everyone in the shot!

Live Panorama, featured on each of the new ST models, allows users the ability to capture even more of the action, facilitating wide panoramic shots, from scenic mountain peaks to large groups of friends. The Live Panorama feature allows the easy capture of large scenes by simply holding down the shutter button and sweeping the camera across the scene. Users can even preview the whole scene they’ve just captured via the LCD screen.

Smart Auto for the best possible picture

Smart Auto 2.0, available on all the new models in the ST series, identifies and automatically selects the most appropriate of its scene modes to provide users with the best possible result every time. From a fireworks display to a dimly-lit party, Smart Auto 2.0,’s scene detection technology identifies the shooting conditions and automatically tailors the settings to help achieve standout results.

Fun features to make your world come to life

Want to turn a portrait into an old film still, or put a friend’s face on a billboard? With the Magic Frame feature, it’s easy to create clever, poster-like images by selecting one of the built-in background templates, such as Wall Art, Full Moon, Magazine or Holiday. Point the camera at your subject, align it within the on-screen template and capture the fun.

For when one picture just isn’t enough, the Picture-in-Picture feature lets users insert one image into another — take one background shot, select the area to erase and then frame up your second shot in the space left behind. This can be anything from a friend’s face appearing in the middle of a plate to inserting a profile picture onto Mount Rushmore!

Finally, users can also bend, stretch, and warp pictures of their friends and family for big laughs — with the Funny Face feature users can simply press the 5-direction key to enlarge heads or noses, or create hilarious distortions. And when the camera is moved, Face Tracking preserves the funny looks.

Visit Samsung’s booth to experience this future technology firsthand. Samsung’s product line will be displayed January 10-13 at booth #12004 in the Central Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center. The press conference will also be streamed live from: www.samsungces.com or www.global.samsungtomorrow.com.
